Sylvie Mangaud

Sylvie Mangaud was born in Paris in 1961. She lives and works in Paris.

Zen, Légère, Libertine, Vénus, Harmonie or Émotion… These names given by Sylvie Mangaud to her bronzes with slen­der gaits also describe the enchant­ing world in which she attracts us.

This is the cross­roads of her activ­i­ties that led her nat­u­rally to sculp­ture in the 1990s. Her ini­tial train­ing of pho­tog­ra­pher lets her know how to cap­ture the move­ment and emo­tion to immor­tal­ize the beauty of a moment. Meanwhile, she took mor­phol­ogy stud­ies that will enable her to bet­ter observe and under­stand the sub­tleties of the body. Following is dic­tated by his innate artis­tic tal­ent and edgy imagination.

Nudes and ani­mals become imme­di­ately her favorite ter­ri­tory. Her cre­ations are made of light­ness, finesse and ele­gance, the purity of their lines express­ing a gen­uine aes­thetic balance.

The result: a freeze frame that gives all her bronzes a slen­der, air and sen­sual size. Respecting her style, these sculp­tures are declined in crys­tal by Daum and rein­vented in wire netting.
