American photographer Beth Moon is world-renowned for her photographs of trees. She has tracked down the world’s oldest trees in their ultimate refuges, bearing witness to an incredible heritage that is long overdue for global recognition and protection.
Over the years, this project has taken her all over the world to meet the wooden giants that fascinate her so much: USA, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa… All her subjects have in common an extraordinary size, a very old age or a remarkable history.
To make them stand out even more, Beth Moon uses a breathtaking technique : platinum printing. This process, prized by collectors, is renowned for its beautiful luminosity and wide range of tones, from cool blacks and neutral grays to rich sepia browns.
It’s this wonderful tribute to the plant world that A.Galerie will be presenting for the first time this summer.
Beth Moon will also exhibit her work at the Festival Photo La Gacilly from June 1 to October 1, 2023.
