David Yarrow

David Yarrow was born in 1966 in Glasgow and lives in London. He began his pho­to­graphic career by cov­er­ing the biggest sport­ing events on the planet. His photo of Maradona hold­ing the tro­phy dur­ing the FIFA World Cup in Mexico has been inter­na­tion­ally publicized.

A grad­u­ate of the University of Edinburgh, David Yarrow then pur­sued a bril­liant career in finance in London and New York, then founded his own invest­ment fund in 1995. During this period his pas­sion for pho­tog­ra­phy remained con­stant. It is through his var­i­ous trav­els that he per­ceives the real envi­ron­men­tal and geopo­lit­i­cal issues of the planet and decides to pho­to­graph the nat­ural world.

David Yarrow is recog­nised today as one of the best­selling pho­tog­ra­phers in the world and his pop­u­lar­ity is grow­ing among art col­lec­tors. His lim­ited edi­tion works reg­u­larly sell at high prices at Sotheby’s and other auc­tion houses.

Since 2019, David’s work has raised over $10m for phil­an­thropic and con­ser­va­tion organ­i­sa­tions includ­ing char­i­ta­ble col­lab­o­ra­tions with Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Gary Player and Chris Hemsworth. His posi­tion in the indus­try has been rewarded with a wide range of advi­sory and ambas­sado­r­ial roles.
