Jeff Divine

Jeff Divine was born in 1950 in San Diego and grew up in La Jolla, California. Passionate about surf­ing, he began to take his first surf pho­tos in the 1960s and sell them to his high school friends.

In 1971, the American mag­a­zine Surfer Magazine hired him and sent him around the world to cover the best surf spots. He will remain a pho­tog­ra­pher for 35 years for Surfer Magazine and Surfer’s Journal.

Jeff Divine now has one of the largest col­lec­tions of surf pho­tog­ra­phy from the 1970s to 2009.

He has pub­lished numer­ous books includ­ing Surfing Photographs From The Seventies and Surfing Photographs Taken in The Eighties with Tom Adler Editions. His pho­tos were exhib­ited at the Oceanside Museum of Art in San Diego in 2007 and in many gal­leries around the world.
