“Her art, full of anxiety, gives us a glimpse of the world in depth. She builds herself through her sculptures and it is only through this search for balance with an uncertain outcome that she finds a form of freedom and inner reconciliation”. Pierre Assouline
Hélène Jousse has been a sculptor for nearly twenty-five years. She trained with the plastic artist Alain Vuarchex and the sculptor Brigitte Terzieff.
The human body, from which she tried to extract the irreducible point of gravity, fed her quest for balance and imbalance for years. She escaped from it to explore the mystery of the face, which she reduced to its simplest expression to discover that it continues, untiringly, to deliver its share of humanity to us.
She has been collaborating for more than twenty years with numerous galleries and cultural spaces, in France but also in Belgium (Brussels), Switzerland (Vevey) and Singapore.
